Truckee’s Annual Big Truck Day a huge success

Posted by Maura on November 16, 2011

This past weekend, Truckee had their second annual Big Truck Day, a showcase of all of Town of Truckee’s heavy equipment and trucks. This year was also the grand opening of the Truckee Public Service Center, a master-planned campus of public agencies which will eventually house facilities for the Town of Truckee, The US Forest Service, the Truckee Fire Protection District, and the Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe. The project began in 2002 and was recently completed.

Sunny, warm weather greeted Truckee local to the event this past Saturday. The Truckee Soroptomists Club fed everyone a BBQ lunch for free. The Berm Brothers played a live concert, and even Smokey Bear made an appearance to meet and greet.

The event was a success, and a good time was had by all. We look forward to next year’s Big Truck Day!
